7 November, 17.00-20.00

This event will focus on the EU’s gender and social policy agenda. It will explore the benefits of young women exercising their political rights in the EU, in order to increase MEP legitimacy through greater knowledge of its role and achievements as well as helping to set the EU’s agenda. With European elections taking place next year, young women have an opportunity to make their voices heard.

This event is a way to explore the achievements and benefits of European legislation, and how young women as European citizens can hold their MEPs to account and influence the agenda.

Participants will be encouraged to share and debate their policy priorities as EU citizens, in order to produce a ‘Young Women’s Manifesto’ to lobby their MEPs and other parliamentarians. Speakers will include:

  • Mary Honeyball MEP
  • Dr Roberta Guerrina
  • European Women’s Lobby
  • members of NAWO’s Youth Caucus.
