Just a reminder that there are still places available on the PSA sponsored trip to Mexico
The Observatorio Mexicano de la Crisis (‘Mexican Observatory of Crisis’), an international NGO based in Mexico City, is developing its programme with regard to gender by organising a series of events in September 2013 on the international financial crisis and global economic recession.
PSA UK is prepared to sponsor a delegation of up to 4 researchers from among its membership, and to assist with air fares on a flexible, co-funded basis.
Events will include:
- plenary/panel delivery of papers,
- thematic workshops,
- knowledge exchange with feminists and women’s groups,
- on-site visits and networking opportunities.
The programme is likely to cover 4 full days in locally provided accommodation, and PSA UK is prepared to consider individual proposals further sponsorship for additional days of research time with colleagues at local universities in Distrito Federal and neighbouring Mexican states. Fluency in Spanish is not a requirement.
Applicants must be current PSA members and should submit a brief CV on how participation would enhance their personal and institutional research profiles, and a very brief abstract summarising a current research paper, or outline of work in progress, that is relevant to the theme. Graduate students may apply. Applications should be emailed in Word or PDF format to PSA UK’s internationalisation officer, Professor Terrell Carver.
